Textured substrate, watercolor and acrylic paint, pen and ink, and gold leaf
The claw. This was a piece where I started placing color to canvas on top of the textured substrate. I let the piece sit for a few minutes and the claw started to appear. A sharp edge appeared from the synchronicity of two colors being placed side by side. This informed the claw-like shape that I went back and emphasized in pen and ink.
