Mixed media – Acrylic paint on watercolor paper, gold leaf, spyrograph decal, repurposed surgical thread from World War II
This piece is part of my Pocket Painting collection. A pocket is hand sewn to the base of the mother painting with surgical thread recovered from World War II. The pocket houses a small piece of another original painting. In the pocket, the smaller piece shows a spyrograph detail. Color from larger composition to the smaller are complementary while pleasantly spliced with strikes of gold leaf, adding further dimension to the luxury of the piece. The golden embellishments were inspired by asemic writing.
The painting comes mounted on quarter-inch black foam core.
dimensions: 12 x 31 inches
